For about 8-10 years… (I lost track how long I was there.) I used to draw at a bunch of resorts in Orlando, Florida. Days went from being both incredibly rewarding, to incredibly dull. You never knew what side of that you would be on and it was your job to keep things lively at your booth. I would draw a lot of random caricatures, juggle tennis balls that I filled with BBs so when they fell on the floor they’d just stop… Not bounce… often times I’d drop one on purpose just to weird out the people walking by.

But one thing that was always a constant were the smells. Our booths that my contractor owned were strategically placed between the food courts and the pools. It worked incredibly well for us contracted caricature artists when it wasn’t cold out, or it was incredibly hot out and parents were desperate to get into the A.C. so from one side of you, you smell burgers, and hotdogs, and from the other side as the sliding doors would open and close, massive smacks of chlorine (not the good smelling kind!) and B.O.
