As a caricature artist in Montana these days I don’t have much time to draw full body caricatures because I am one artist reaching across Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and the Dakotas. So when I have a gig with a large amount of attendees, its quickest for me to do face only caricatures to get done as many people as possible in the time frame I have been hired for by cranking out one caricature within 5-7 minutes per person. But in my past career in a market where we sold caricatures per person at theme parks and resorts in Orlando, Florida, face and body caricatures were a key product for us, and when it came to money, the most expensive product we sold.

When someone would tell me they wanted a face and body caricature, as soon as they got comfortable and I started to dig in, the question would always be “What do you like to do?” Sometimes, parents have to give their input, or kinds aren’t sure so you start going down the list. “Do you like sports? Art? Who is your favorite Disney Princess? How did you two meet?”

On the day this comic was drawn, it was a quiet day at my booth at the resorts. Yes, it happened, some days against your best efforts hours go by without clients. So when a kid comes up and asks you with big begging eyes, “Can you draw me playing the piano, dancing, playing basketball and soccer?”. Since I didn’t see extra clients showing up, I decided to try and meet this more extreme request. The end result is one I still see in my memory and is the story I share when someone asks me “What is the weirdest caricature you’ve ever drawn?” After drawing thousands of caricatures that is one of the key ones that returns to my mind.
